Super-Y 2013

LSC U17 Boys Team Advance to 2013 Super-Y Nationals!!


December, 2013 - Lightning U17 Boys secured a bid to the 2013 SYL North American Finals to be held December 5-9, 2013 at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

The USL Super Y-League North American Finals is the premier event for the Super Y-League.  After competing during the regular season from April to August, the boy’s and girl’s divisional winners convene at IMG Academy to battle for the championship.  This elite event takes place in the beginning of December each year and offers the best competition from all over North America.

LSC U16 and U17 Boys Compete at NEFC College Showcase Tournament


March, 2013 - Lightning U16 and U17 Boys opened their season on a frozen turf at the highly competitive NEFC College Showcase Pre-season Tournament in Lancaster, MA, March 15-17.  The U16 boys went 2-1 on the weekend, conceding only two goals, and finishing in third place out of 8 teams, one tie-breaker point shy of a first place finish.   The U17 boys narrowly lost their first two matches 0-1, but defeated Connecticut’s Ajax Premier 2-0 in their third match of the weekend.  


LSC U15 Boys & U16 Girls Teams Advance to Super-Y Nationals!!


December, 2012  -  Lightning SC was accepted into the Super‐Y league for 2012 and hosted 4 regional ‘all‐star’ teams to compete in the 2012 altsummer season -- Boys U14, U15 & U16, and Girls U16. Competing in the Super‐Y league provided premier players an opportunity to compete with and against other top‐level players in the region. In addition, participating in Super‐Y offered players an opportunity to compete on a national stage at the Super‐Y North American Finals, and to be identified for the Olympic Development Program.

The Score for Lightning fundraiser at the Nashua Columbus Day Tournament was a huge success!  Over $3000 was pledged to the Scholarship Fund.  Thanks to all that supported the event by pledging, driving your child to the tournament and supporting their efforts to play some great soccer!

Congratulations to the 2 following teams that have earned a pizza party!! 

- U12 Boys Flames -- team with most money pledged
- U10 Boys Strikers -- top fundraising team

And the raffle winner of the LSC Admiral training kit is Nick Jones of the U12B Surge team!! 

We will be sending out pledge amounts due within the next week.  Please respond promptly!

Kristin joins us from the Guam national team, as a coach for the U14 and U16 Girls, director of their Girls Academy program, and as a current member of the Guam women's national team! She will be coaching our Girls' Advantage Clinic this spring and will be guest coaching for various Lightning teams. She will also work in administration in the Lightning office.

NORWICH, VT- In its inaugural season in the USL Super Y-League, New England-based Lightning Soccer Club’s U16 girls and U15 boys each secured a bid to the 2012 SYL North American Finals to be held December 7-11 at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.alt

“We are extremely pleased with the results of our first season in Super Y. With two of our four teams representing LSC at the national championships in Florida, and a third narrowly missing a bid, we have proven that our club is ready for competition at this level,” said Charles Mhlauri, Lightning Soccer Club’s Director of Coaching and former head coach of the Zimbabwe men’s national team. Mhlauri, who joined LSC in 2009, has grown the club to more than 500 players with numerous premier teams now competing in some of the most competitive leagues and tournaments in the country.

Lightning SC Accepted into Super Y-League
Lightning Soccer Club (LSC) was selected by the United Soccer Leagues to participate in the 2012 Super Y-League season. LSC will host four premier teams in the spring and summer of 2012: U14, U15, U16 boys and U16 girls. “We are working hard to further our program offerings for our most competitive teams and players,” said Charles Mhlauri, Director of Coaching for LSC and former head coach of the Zimbabwe National Team. “The Super Y-League offers these players not only a chance to compete against some of the strongest clubs in the US and Canada, but a chance to be identified for the United States National Team Programs.” Teams that finish at the top of their respective divisions are invited to compete in the Super Y-League national championships in Tampa, Florida in December.
