Bill is a player, coach, parent, and the driving force in organizing Upper Valley pick-up games for a broad range of ages. He lives and breathes the sport. A Hanover resident, Bill brings four decades of soccer playing, coaching and administrative experience to the position. He has played throughout his life at the high school, college and semi-pro level and continues to play today with the Upper Valley pick-up community. Bill has coached at the high school, college and club level including two different teams at Lightning. Bill is a FIFA licensed player agent and has represented players throughout global soccer.  

Bill wanted to share: “I am a passionate soccer player and fan and look forward to bringing that energy to the Lightning community. My goal is to make LSC programs available to everyone that wants to participate in the Upper Valley and to provide as much skill development and competitive game play as possible. The first step to enjoying the game, as with most things in life, is time to practice and develop your skills. To do that, we need great teachers, a competitive environment, and to minimize the time in the car or on the bench. I will focus on more touches, more fun and less travel.”

Charles has over 14 years of experience in coaching and administration in the game of soccer. Most recently, Charles was the Head Men's Soccer coach at Colby-Sawyer College for five years. He holds a Master of Science in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University (Irvine, Calif.) Charles has also received his Advanced National and Goalkeeping 1 & 2 Diplomas from the United Soccer Coaches.
